Research Ethics

International Journal for Research Technology and Seminar (ISSN # 2347-6117 (Print), ISSN # 3048-703X (Online)) is committed to upholding the highest ethical standards in publishing and research integrity. Our ethics policy ensures that all submissions adhere to principles of honesty, transparency, and academic rigor. Authors, reviewers, and editors must comply with the following ethical guidelines:

1. Ethical Guidelines for Authors

Authors submitting to INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL FOR RESEARCH TECHNOLOGY AND SEMINAR must adhere to the following ethical principles:

  • Originality and Authenticity: All submitted work must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration elsewhere. Authors should accurately present their research without falsification or misrepresentation of data.
  • Authorship and Contributions: Authorship must be limited to individuals who have significantly contributed to the research. All co-authors must approve the final manuscript before submission.
  • Proper Citation and Acknowledgment: Authors must properly cite all sources and acknowledge contributions from other researchers. Any funding sources or institutional affiliations should be disclosed.
  • Data Integrity and Transparency: Authors must provide a clear and accurate description of their methodology and findings. If required, authors should be prepared to share data for verification.
  • Ethical Research Practices: Studies involving human or animal subjects must comply with ethical guidelines, including obtaining necessary approvals from institutional review boards (IRBs) or ethics committees.

Failure to comply with these ethical guidelines may result in manuscript rejection or retraction after publication.

2. Plagiarism Prevention

INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL FOR RESEARCH TECHNOLOGY AND SEMINAR follows a zero-tolerance policy for plagiarism, which includes:

  • Strict Plagiarism Checks: All submissions undergo rigorous plagiarism screening using advanced detection software. Manuscripts with a similarity index exceeding acceptable limits will be rejected or returned for revision.
  • Self-Plagiarism and Redundant Publication: Authors must not submit previously published work or republish the same research in multiple journals. Proper citation is required if prior work forms the foundation of a new study.
  • Text Recycling and AI-generated Plagiarism: Excessive text reuse from previous publications, including AI-generated paraphrased content, is not allowed.

If plagiarism is detected post-publication, INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL FOR RESEARCH TECHNOLOGY AND SEMINAR reserves the right to retract the paper and inform relevant institutions.

3. Conflict of Interest Disclosure

To maintain transparency and research integrity, INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL FOR RESEARCH TECHNOLOGY AND SEMINAR requires all parties involved in the publication process to disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

  • Authors: Must disclose any financial, professional, or personal relationships that could influence their research findings.
  • Reviewers and Editors: Must declare conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from reviewing or handling submissions where a conflict exists.
  • Governance and Editorial Board: No conflicts should exist between governing bodies, editorial board members, reviewers, and authors. Any potential conflict must be disclosed and managed appropriately.

Failure to disclose conflicts of interest may lead to manuscript rejection, editorial withdrawal, or further investigation.

4. AI-Generated Content Policy

The rise of Artificial Intelligence (AI)-generated content presents new ethical challenges in academic publishing. INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL FOR RESEARCH TECHNOLOGY AND SEMINAR enforces the following policies:

  • AI as a Tool, Not an Author: AI tools (such as ChatGPT, DeepL, or automated data analysis programs) may assist in research but cannot be credited as authors. Authors must take full responsibility for any AI-assisted content.
  • Disclosure of AI Use: If AI-generated content, such as writing assistance, data processing, or image generation, is used, authors must explicitly disclose its use in the manuscript.
  • No AI-Fabricated Data: Authors must not use AI to fabricate, manipulate, or falsify research data, results, or citations. AI-generated references are strictly prohibited.
  • Ethical AI Use in Peer Review: Reviewers and editors must ensure that AI tools do not replace human judgment in the peer review and editorial decision-making process.

Misuse of AI tools in research and writing may lead to manuscript rejection or retraction upon discovery.

5. Publication Ethics

Ethical standards for publication exist to ensure high-quality scientific publications, public trust in scientific findings, and that people receive credit for their ideas. It is important to avoid:

  • Data fabrication and falsification:
  • Data fabrication means the researcher did not actually do the study, but made up data. Data falsification means the researcher did the experiment, but then changed some of the data. Both of these practices make people distrust scientists. If the public is mistrustful of science then it will be less willing to provide funding support.

  • Plagiarism:
  • Taking the ideas and work of others without giving them credit is unfair and dishonest. Copying even one sentence from someone else’s manuscript, or even one of your own that has previously been published, without proper citation is considered plagiarism—use your own words instead.

  • Multiple submissions:
  • It is unethical to submit the same manuscript to more than one journal at the same time. Doing this wastes the time of editors and peer reviewers, and can damage the reputation of journals if published in more than one.

  • Redundant publications (or ‘salami’ publications):
  • This means publishing many very similar manuscripts based on the same experiment. It can make readers less likely to pay attention to your manuscripts.

  • Improper author contribution or attribution:
  • All listed authors must have made a significant scientific contribution to the research in the manuscript and approved all its claims. Don’t forget to list everyone who made a significant scientific contribution, including students and laboratory technicians. The INTERNATIONAL JOURNAL FOR RESEARCH TECHNOLOGY AND SEMINAR Editors has detailed guidelines on authorship that are useful for scientists in all fields.
