ABSTRACT
Degradation of water quality is a major worldwide problem that poses serious dangers to ecosystems and public health and is brought on by home waste, agricultural runoff, and industrial discharge. This paper offers a thorough analysis of methods for evaluating water quality, with a focus on biological indicators, physicochemical characteristics, and newly discovered contaminants. Modern instruments including real-time sensor technology and remote sensing are emphasised for their accuracy in water quality monitoring. The study also investigates nanoparticles’ potential for water cleanup. Because of its large surface area, reactivity, and adaptability, nanotechnology provides novel ways to get rid of organic pollutants, viruses, and heavy metals. The effectiveness of several nanoparticles for cleanup is investigated, including metal oxides, carbon-based nanomaterials, and polymeric nanocomposites. The difficulties of synthesising nanoparticles, scalability, environmental effects, and regulatory frameworks are all covered in the paper. This work advances environmental technology and promotes sustainable water resource management by combining remediation techniques based on nanoparticles with water quality evaluation.
