ABSTRACT

A novel written by Shashi Deshpande, The Dark Holds No Terror is the author’s second book to be released. The main character of the book, Saru, is a highly educated health care professional. The focus of this study is on her connection with her parents and brother, as well as the changes that occur in her life before and after she gets married. Throughout the course of the book, she will experience emotional, physical, and spiritual suffering. Beginning when she was a child, she was a child who was ignored. The main focus of this thesis is on the manner in which the protagonist resolves the issues and ultimately comes to terms with her true nature.
