Page No. : 55-66

ABSTRACT

In the symphony of global economies, the stock market plays a critical tune, a melody without which the harmonious development and prosperity of nations would be incomplete. India, in recent years, has witnessed a meteoric rise in its stock market, propelled by a growing influx of investments from both individuals and organizations. However, amidst this financial crescendo, a disconcerting note resonates – the widespread lack of understanding among the public regarding the intricacies of the stock market. When the stock market is operating well, it contributes significantly to a country’s growth and wealth, and without it, no economy can operate. An increasing number of people and businesses have been investing in India’s stock market, leading to a huge increase in its value during the last several years. Meanwhile, despite this growth, the average person still doesn’t understand the stock market or how it works. The financial backer’s success may be jeopardised if this knowledge gap led to naive supposition. So, it’s crucial to learn about honest and fair money dealings in India and figure out what factors make them work or break them. Examining the current state of stock exchange knowledge in India and identifying key factors discouraging investors from trading on the stock market are the main objectives of this research study. Investors’ level of knowledge is influenced by their occupation, not their age or wealth. This is the verdict that has been handed out.
