ABSTRACT

The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 is a significant reform in India’s education sector. It aims to transform the system into one that is more flexible, innovative, and inclusive. The policy focuses on foundational literacy, early childhood care, and seamless education from school to higher levels. Implementing the NEP 2020 comes with challenges. One major hurdle is the need for substantial financial investment to build infrastructure, train teachers, and develop new curricula. Adapting teaching methods to meet the policy’s goals is also a challenge. Equity and inclusivity are vital aspects of the NEP, but addressing disparities in rural and urban areas remains a challenge. Collaboration with state governments is crucial because education is a shared responsibility. Despite these challenges, the NEP 2020 offers promising prospects. It encourages critical thinking, creativity, and research skills. Vocational education and a global perspective are emphasized, preparing students for a changing world. implementing India’s NEP 2020 presents difficulties, but it also brings opportunities to enhance the quality and accessibility of education. With coordinated efforts and cooperation, the policy has the potential to benefit India’s education system and empower future generations.
