Page No. : 91-99
ABSTRACT
As a major public health issue, mental diseases have far-reaching effects on both individuals and communities. This study examines the many causes of mental illness and their interconnections. This inquiry uses a wide variety of studies and data sources to provide light on the complex web of factors affecting mental health. Socioeconomic status, environmental factors, genetic susceptibility, and accessibility to mental healthcare are only some of the many factors studied. The key findings show that the burden of mental diseases is generally higher for people from marginalized backgrounds, suggesting that socio-economic inequalities have a major impact on mental health outcomes. Trauma, stress, and social support systems are all aspects that the environment plays a role in. Some mental diseases have a genetic component, which highlights the need for individualized treatment plans. This study highlights the need of early intervention, lowered stigma, and addressing the socioeconomic determinants of mental health as part of a broader public health strategy. This study provides a solid foundation for targeted policies and interventions to improve mental health outcomes and enhance the overall well-being of individuals and communities by providing light on the various factors determining prevalence.
