Dr. Trilok Singh
Page No. : 145-151

ABSTRACT

Human’s endless thirst for knowing about new thing has enabled him to gather, through ages, a vast sea of knowledge. Knowledge seeking is basically a pleasing phenomenon for him. A teacher should impart knowledge in such a way that it becomes a pleasure-giving phenomenon rather than a burden. In the case of an adult learner this question conquers greater significance. Adult learner is a mature student who is acquiring new knowledge and skills, developing new attitudes after having reached mature intellectual, physical and social development (Kapur, 2015). Adult learners assume many difficulties in comparison to the younger student learners. It is very challenging for him being part of the learning. Under these conditions, teaching-learning should be carried out in a graceful manner. The teaching learning environment has to be lively and cuts out the use of boring techniques and instructional devices. To achieve this well the facilitator uses different types of teaching techniques and methods, materials, devices and strategies. Teaching tools are the tools available to the teachers to provide multiple experiences and to carry out teaching- learning process effectively and efficiently. Making the learning process effortless as well as pleasurable is a difficult task. A lot depends on the creative and innovative abilities of the teacher/mentor /facilitator. Use of teaching modern tools with adult learners can facilitate the learning process by making it interesting and less time consuming (Kapur, 2015).
