ABSTRACT
The agricultural industry plays a crucial role in the Indian economy. Over the course of five years, twelve Indian states experienced significant shifts in cropping pattern, frequency of crop pests, and kind of cultivation. The study found that most regions’ cropping styles had changed significantly during the past forty years. Depending on the need and profitability in the regional and global markets, larger areas have been allocated for concentrated development of cotton, paddy, vegetables, and maize. While the overall usefulness of different crops has stayed the same, crop expansion has been quick. Technological advancements in agriculture include increased plant diversity, faster growth rates, more use of composts, a more comprehensive irrigation network, and improved furrowing, harvesting, and safety measures for crops. A wide range of high-yielding varieties has been developed for a wide range of crops, although their impact on output, utility, and costs varies widely between crops and regions.
