ATTENUATION OF ACOUSTIC WAVE IN NON-UNIFORM FLOWS CONTAINING SMALL LIQUID DROPLETS AND FLUID-VAPOUR MIXTURE

ABSTRACT

This paper presents a theoretical study of acoustic attenuation of small liquid droplets and non-uniform fluid-vapour mixture. Approximate methods are applied to solve the mean quantities required for solutions of the acoustic equation. The results shows that the attenuation in acoustic pressure level in gas-vapour particle mixture with temperature and density gradients may be significantly different from that in spatially uniform mixture.
