The Digital India Programme seeks to transform India from a predominantly rural agrarian society to a digitally empowered knowledge economy. It is an initiative by the Government of India to ensure that Government services are made available to citizens electronically by improving online infrastructure and by increasing Internet connectivity. Digital India Programme pulls together many existing schemes. This Programme aims to provide the much needed thrust to the focused nine columns of growth areas and also aims to eliminate all electronics imports from foreign countries by 2020 and make India a electronics manufacturing super power. For proper and successful implementation of this flagship programme some areas need much considerations viz.Human Resource Issues, Financial Resources Issues and Coordination Issues. This paper is based on secondary data. This paper is an attempt to discuss the growth area and to assess the future prospects of Digital India.
