Generally, the political systems of Third World countries are
characterised by political instability, turmoil, and conflict. The majority of
Third World nations are battling for a stable political structure. While the
majority of them begin their governments with democracy, only a handful can
maintain it. However, there is one unique and unexpected state known as India
that has all of the characteristics of Third World States and is capable of
effectively maintaining its democratic system. The purpose of this research
paper is to investigate and analyse how she maintained her democratic
government’s sustainability despite thousands of handicaps. Essentially, the
research will examine the variables that contributed to India’s successful
democracy and the significance of these characteristics in sustaining a level
of stability that may be emulated by other third-world nations.
