SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF FERRITES PREPARED VIA LOW TEMPERATURE CO-PRECIPITATION METHOD

ABSTRACT

Ferrites are well known for their remarkable electrical and magnetic properties. These have spinel type structure and the spinels having iron are named as ferrites. Due to their peculiar ionic distribution they show excellent acido-basic properties. These acido-basic properties can be further varied by altering the ionic distribution in the lattice. Ni_1-xMn_xFe₂O₄ and Cd_1-xCr_xFe₂O₄ ferrospinels were prepared via low temperature co-precipitation method and characterized by various physical and chemical methods.
