India is a democratic country in which political parties play a
significant role. In India, all political leaders are chosen by the general
public through a process known as general elections. The successful candidates
represent their respective constituencies. The Prime Minister is the supreme
leader of all leaders and has the power to take effective action to further the
country’s growth. Indian democracy is a people’s democracy. The ordinary man
has a right to select his or her leaders. In India, everyone who is 18 years of
age or older has the right to vote. The present article focuses on the
political parties’ involvement in Indian democracy.
