ABSTRACT

Agriculture sector has been disregarded previously, then after the fact autonomy. Farmers were taken advantage of by the Mughals and Britishers by extricating increasingly more income charges from the area. After freedom, the public authority of India embraced modern area as the driving force of development by proclaiming that – Big businesses are sanctuaries of India. In the process the little, cabin and town ventures were overlooked. Eventually, the agriculture area was over-looked thoroughly prompting food emergency in the country. But Lal Bahadur Sastri, Dev Gowrda and Devi Lal, no other pioneer could understand the helpless state of the area. Nonetheless, the UPA govt. driven by the congress established the hotly anticipated Swaminathan board to investigate issues of agriculture area on November 8, 2004. It submitted four reports in 2004, 2005, 2006 and last in 2007. The present research paper highlights some key issues and challenges of agriculture in India.The paper concludes that presently, we can point out that agriculture is the foundation of Indian economy. Despite the fact that by and by in the point of view of COVID-19 it has shown signs of development. Also, food grain requests have been developed differently by meaning the extra requirements created by numerous components like populace development, changing food propensities dietary example, seed and feed needs, support stock structure, export/import and wastage.
