Fuzzy set theory, introduced by Lotfi A. Zadeh in 1965, offers a framework for dealing with uncertainty and imprecision, distinguishing itself from classical set theory through its allowance for partial membership. Over the past decades, fuzzy sets have found a wide array of applications across various fields. This paper provides an overview of the key applications of fuzzy sets in diverse domains such as control systems, decision-making, image processing, medical diagnosis, and pattern recognition. The versatility and robustness of fuzzy sets in handling vagueness and ambiguity have made them a valuable tool in both theoretical research and practical implementations.
