ABSTRACT

The theory of generalized thermoelasticity with fractional order strain based on Lord-Shulman (L-S) model has been used in this work. Analysis of the thermoelastic interactions in an isotropic and homogeneous media involves calculating the impact of the fractional order parameter on various fields within the medium. Utilizing the Laplace transform and state-space technique, the governing equations of the one-dimensional medium are transformed into matrices. The resulting formulation is used to address a particular issue involving a thermoelastic material subjected to a mechanical load of the ramp type. In order to obtain expressions for thermoelastic fields (displacement, temperatures, strain and stress) in the physical domain, we have employed a numerical inversion technique. Numerical computations are performed for a specific material and the results thus obtained are presented graphically.
