A STUDY OF EFFECT OF COVID 19 AMONG WOMEN WORKING IN UNORGANIZED SECTORS IN INDIA

ABSTRACT

In India, working women still face the harsh reality of gender discrimination, exploitation, and workplace violence. Their standing in the unorganised sector is inferior to their counterparts in the organised sector. They attempt to balance their dual responsibilities as a professional and a homemaker. In such a precarious circumstance, they are confronted with the problem of a nationwide lockdown due to COVID 19. Most of them are the primary breadwinners for their families. As a result of Covid 19, a few of them lost their jobs. Through this review article, an effort has been made to emphasise the difficulties faced by women in the unorganised sector as a result of COVID19.
