REVIEW OF ICT BASED E-RESOURCES AND ITS UTILITIES IN LIBRARY

ABSTRACT

Digitalization is the process of converting information from print media to digital media that is readable by computers. Basically, digital information is stored in the forms of bits in digital media. Sometimes, other number systems may also be used for the purpose. The process of digitization may be performed by scanning the documents, taking digital photos etc. and saving in computer servers in different file formats such as, jpg, tiff, pdf etc. It include specialized electronic machinery. Library automation is mainly done by using different library management software types such as, standalone library management software, ERP softwares, open access softwares etc. Few examples of these softwares are LibSys, SOUL, TCSiON, SANJAY, Koha, Joomla etc. Now a days various specialized software are developed for performing different activities of libraries.
