Linear Programming Problem (LPP) is well-known as one of the most efficient mathematical tools for figuring out how to use operational resources in the best way. Many real-life problems can be formulated as LPP. Transportation problems (TP) are known to be a basic network problem that can be formulated as an LPP. The primary purpose of TP is to deliver a product from multiple origins (such as factories) to multiple destinations with the least amount of transportation expenses (e.g. ware houses). Two types of TP should be mentioned: balanced TP and unbalanced TP. If the entire sum of supplies from all sources equals the total sum of problems at all destinations, the transportation problem is said to be "balanced." A transportation problem is sometimes referred to as "unbalanced" if the entire supply from all sources does not meet the total demand at all destinations.
