EFFECT OF FAMILY RELATIONSHIP, SOCIAL ADJUSTMENT AND SELF-CONCEPT OF TEACHER TRAINEES ON THEIR ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT: AN OVERVIEW

ABSTRACT

The purpose of this study is to see if teacher candidates academic performance is influenced by factors such as their familial relationships, social adjustment, and self-concept. A stratified random sampling approach was employed in this survey to pick a sample from the population. Above average, average and below-average levels were used to stratify. Ambala, Kurukshetra, Karnal, and Yamuna Nagar districts are represented in the sample of 1500 teacher trainees. This study utilised the Family Environment Scale (FES-BC) developed by Dr. Harpreet Bhatia & dr. N.K. Chandra, the Social Adjustment Inventory (SAI-D) developed by Dr. R.C. Deva, and the Self-Concept Rating Scale (SCRS-D) developed by Dr. Pratibha Deo. Karl Pearson’s product moment co-efficient of correlation was the statistical approach used to analyse the data for this investigation. Teachers’ family relationships, social adjustment, and self-concept have no significant impact on their academic performance, according to this study.
