ABSTRACT

There are a variety of ways to approximate a given function by a class of simpler functions in numerical mathematics. Wavelet functions have recently been shown to be an efficient approximation technique. In this study, the authors describe how wavelet bases can be used to approximate a polynomial function. A description of the approach is provided in great depth in this paper, making it an explanation.
