Public and academic debates are raging around the appointment of Narendra Modi as India’s new prime minister. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), and his time as India’s Prime Minister have all been the subject of several articles and books. This level of scrutiny is unprecedented for an Indian leader. While some believe he will be a great leader in the future, others see him as a self-absorbed politician. His leadership style has been characterised as ’best for India’ by some, while others have derided him as a party leader.’
