Economic development began in the early nineteenth century and peaked in the twentieth century. The authoritarian type of governance is phased out in favour of a democratic form of government aimed at achieving the development goal. To attain economic growth and development, all economies throughout the world began depleting all types of natural resources and destroying and exploiting the environment. As a result, economists created a new notion known as sustainable development. The transparency, accountability, fast and easy way of service, accessibility in administration needs the inclusive of ICT in all levels of administration. To achieve the goal of sustainable development, the economy must eliminate poverty and unemployment and expand social benefits to citizens, which requires an efficient governing structure. Any nation’s long-term development is contingent upon the effectiveness of its government. E-governance is a critical endeavour for achieving the economic aim of sustainable development. The purpose of this article is to examine the sustainable development of public administration through digitization, as well as the benefits, challenges, and issues associated with the implementation of E-governance in India.
