A STUDY OF MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF JIND DISTRICT

ABSTRACT

Though there are a few general treatises on the local finance as a whole and some detailed studies confined to some local bodies, local finance has not received the attention it deserves. The present study that relates to “Finances of Urban Local Governments in Haryana” is a modest attempt to study the major source and determinants of revenue and expenditures as well as its financial administration. The purpose of the present study is to give a comprehensive picture of the finances of the various Municipal bodies i.e. analysis of Income and Expenditure, review of revenue sources and finding out new ways for raising more funds to meet its requirements with the help of relevant statistics and data. It also gives an insight into an organization and working for improvements. An attempt has been made in this study to judge the performance of municipal bodies in Haryana in tapping their financial resource and providing services to the citizens as also to assess the gap between obligations and resources.
