A BRIEF OVERVIEW OF SECOND ORDER LINEAR DIFFERENTIAL EQUATIONS

ABSTRACT

A differential equation is a mathematical equation that relates some function with its derivatives. In applications, the functions usually represent physical quantities, the derivatives represent their rates of change, and the equation defines a relationship between the two. This paper attempts to give a descriptive brief about linear differential equations of second order and tries to find the solutions of three major cases of the same. The importance of studying differential equations is also explored in this study.
