A CRITICAL REVIEW OF DEBT AND BALANCED SCHEMES IN THE CONTEXT OF MUTUAL FUNDS

ABSTRACT

A mutual fund is a trust that puts together assets from a variety of investors who seek a similar monetary purpose. Mutual fund industry in India has been flourishing in last two decades but it has been observed that still the market is exposed to few big players. In this context the current study assesses financial performance of HDFC, ICICI, Aditya Birla, Nippon India & SBI Mutual Fund during 2010-2019. Descriptive analyses along with ANOVA and trend analysis has been done. Beta value, Correlation (r), Sharpe, Treynor and Jensen ratio were derived to evaluate and compare performance of selected schemes.
