REVIEW OF POST INDEPENDENCE INDIAN LITERATURE

Chetna Mahajan, Dr. Puran Singh
Page No. : 25-30

ABSTRACT

The nature, identity, and eventual distinctness of contemporary India are debated in Indian English literature. The realistic, modernistic, pessimistic style of post-independence writing has recently given way to a non-representational, experimental, self-aware, and hopeful literature. The fundamental problem for today’s authors is the forced homogenisation and uniformity of culture as a result of globalisation, as well as the new, easy, and superficial internationalism that tempts Indian English writers to sell themselves internationally.
