ABSTRACT

Use of personal computers in the industry and commerce has expanded dramatically in the last decades. Large gains in employment productivity are possible as a result of this technology. However ensuring the security of the processes and the privacy of data is a very hard problem. Solutions that ensure security by preventing access by legitimate users are inconsistent with the gains in productivity that are possible. The general problem of computer security is being faced by government and by academic and industrial research with some notable success. In March, 2014 we all came across a headline of being hacked of a computer of DRDO  by a group of Pakistani hacker. We all were started grumbling. But most of the persons were not aware about the reason of this grumbling. What is meant by Hacking and what are its effects? How it can  be done?  Who did it?  How it can be prevented?  Now think once again that passwords applied by you on your system are sufficient to keep safe your data. This paper makes us learn a little bit about the hacking and its various components.
