ABSTRACT

This paper attempts to investigate underachieved students of different schools and checks their perceptions of identifying themselves as learners in and out the boundary of their schools. A number of interviews and TAT tests were administered in order to collect the data  from students, teachers and even their parents. Data was sufficiently and statistically analysed and finding were tabulated. The findings suggest that children learn more from their daily experiences and their motivation depends on the overall surroundings. Inside the schools learning is more dependent on the teachers and outside the school it is more active, collective, total and comprehensive. Knowledge and understanding is a dependent variable on the perceptions. Knowledge and understanding in these contexts seemed to be located within the children.
