STUDY OF ROLE CONFLICT AMONG SENIOR SECONDARY SCHOOL TEACHERS IN RELATION TO GENDER AND TYPE OF SCHOOL

ABSTRACT

In the present paper, an attempt has been made to study the role conflict among senior secondary school teachers. The present study proposed to measure the role conflict among senior secondary school teachers. The investigator had employed descriptive research design.  A total of 600 (300 male and 300 female) teachers of senior secondary level was  taken as the sample.  Teacher’s Role Conflict Scale by Dr. Madhu Gupta and Ms. Indu Nain was used to assess the role conflict among teachers.  It was found  that there is a significant difference between male and female senior secondary school teachers regarding role conflict.  Male teachers  were found to have more feelings of role conflict than female senior secondary school teachers. It was observed that  there is a significant difference between government and private senior secondary school teachers regarding role conflict.  Teachers  working in private schools were found to have more feelings of role conflict than senior secondary school teachers working in government schools.
