HEALTH HAZARDS OF MOBILE PHONES: A SOCIOLOGICAL OVERVIEW

ABSTRACT

Mobile phones are considered to be one of the mostspeedily emerging technologies in the human race especially in younger generation within a short span of time. Youth is more inclined towards using mobilephones for activities other than communication than older generation because in adolescence stage, people are moresusceptible to changing fashion trends and style, buildingthem more Tech savvy which creates certain behavioraldisorders. The fame of the mobile phones is followed byan alarm towards the detrimental effects of phoneradiation. Fatigue, headache, decreased concentrationand local irritation and burning are the major effectsof excessive usage of mobile phones, as stated by variousresearches. This study seeks to evaluate the health hazards and risks caused by the prolonged usage of mobile phones and its awareness and perception levels among their users.
