ABSTRACT

Entrepreneurship plays an important role in the economic development and standard of living of the country. Entrepreneurial qualities and skills are extremely important for industrial development to create self-employment and employment to others which leads to the growth of economic development. The present economic status of SC and ST communities in India is deprecated. Many discrimination and exploitation affects to the SC-ST entrepreneurs. There is an average development of SC-ST entrepreneurs in the field of entrepreneurship. Thus the central and state government are trying their best for promotion of entrepreneurship among the backward classes like Scheduled castes and scheduled tribes through some policy measures, schemes, entrepreneurial activity and many more. Keeping in view the need and importance of the entrepreneurship development in backward classes like SC-ST communities. The present paper conceptually explores the role of SC-ST entrepreneurs in economic development and some of the challenges of SC-ST entrepreneurs in India. Further this paper highlights some findings and have discussion on challenges of SC-ST entrepreneurs for future improvement of this field. This paper is prepared with the help of secondary data by analysing the different research papers, articles and journals.
