Page No. : 10-18

ABSTRACT

In the rapidly evolving digital landscape, data security remains a primary concern, with increasing threats of cyber attacks and data tampering. One promising approach to combating these issues is watermarking, a technique that embeds imperceptible marks or identifiers within digital content to establish ownership and authenticity. This paper investigates the role of watermarking in enhancing data security by preventing unauthorized alterations and attacks. Through a comprehensive review of existing methods, including robust, fragile, and semi-fragile watermarking techniques, the study highlights how these technologies can be used to detect tampered data and ensure the integrity of digital assets. Additionally, the research examines the effectiveness of watermarking in various domains, such as image, video, and document protection, and its integration with other security measures like encryption and authentication protocols. The findings suggest that watermarking, when implemented strategically, can provide an additional layer of defense, making it a crucial tool in the fight against cyber threats and ensuring the reliability of digital information.
